Bay Audiology is a company striving to assist people with hearing loss. We needed to find a way to develop a series of videos that highlighted key life moments that were being missed or effected by this problem. We created a ground breaking campaign that uses the fusion of sound waves and animation in a totally new way.
To start we identified what sounds were audible to a hearing loss sufferer. Starting with tinnitus, a common symptom of hearing loss, we then took a sound wave and manipulated its frequency and volume and in turn altered its shape and path. While the line on its own looks nondescript, a process was then applied to each of the 280 different sounds waves, whereby they were arranged within a 3D space to reveal a completed image.

We were challenged to create individual siloed ads that displayed truths about each product, that were expectedly unexpected, charming, humorous and all had to play out within five seconds.
We created a colour palette for each biscuit and scene which allowed us to silo our short stories even when patched together all the while still feeling cohesive as each colour sat in a similar tonal range. We experimented with a wide array of liquid and particle simulations to further display the biscuit characteristics as well as the playfulness of each spot, tackling the challenges in the brief to create dynamic content with detailed storytelling, whilst applying design and craft throughout.

Saatchi and Saatchi approached us with the challenge of creating and developing two strong lead characters that could carry the campaign across multiple spots and scenarios.
Our challenges were finding a middle ground between photo real and slightly caricatured. With the look and feel of fur playing a big part creating a nice balance between reality and performance ability. Performance inspiration came from some of screens most enduring duos; Ernie and Bert, & Toyota’s couple; Crumpy and Scotty, creating characters that could lead the campaign in humorous and unique approach.
We always strive to embody the characters to our fullest, its a great way to live vicariously through a made up character. And become the possum you always dreamed of.
