Flux attended the 50th international NZ business awards this week. Where we were finalist in “Excellence in Design”. While we didn’t take out the award it was a great recognition of Brent’s legacy over the last 20 years, to be recognized across all NZ industries.
We would like to acknowledge the tragic and sudden loss of our much loved Flux founder, Brent Chambers.
A naturally gifted animator and creative pioneer, through sheer grit and determination Brent became a successful businessman and was a fiercely loyal employer. This month Flux celebrates a remarkable 20 year anniversary, an impossible feat made possible by Brent’s great passion and drive. New Zealand’s animation industry as a whole is indebted to Brent for his endeavors, and hundreds of New Zealand animators have at some point benefited from his training, mentoring and inspiration.
Brent – it’s quite probable you’re looking down now (beer in hand), right pissed off at all the great projects and dreams you’re not around to see completed, but can we point to the long list of TV shows, the feature film, the international connections and friendships, and the literally hundreds of great TV commercials and say, ‘ya did good mate’.
Flux is committed to continuing Brent’s great work, and at this difficult time we collectively send all our love to Sue, and Brent’s three children Tom, Jess and Max.
Flux entered ’25 April’ & Whiskas ‘Catslock’ into the 2016 Best Awards – Moving Images category this year and arrived home with a bronze award for each. It was an amazing night, spent with creative like-minded people and we had a blast! Until next year..
